What is it you want to mean when you say it?

I really like meeting new people.
I'm an extrovert and get my energy from being around people.
I think I'm a good listener and people feel comfortable sharing things with me.
Etc.

(And I agree you don't just say "Hi, I'm Barb. I'm a Gemini, I'm from New York, and I'm a people person!")

If you said any of those things to me when we were introduced, I'd want to find somebody else to talk to. As two people have said, we don't normally attempt to summarise our personality when we are introduced to somebody, except in speed dating.
