How long will it take to recover from pneumonia?
A baby who gets pneumonia will need how long to recover?

Does the second sentence correct?
Do we need add time after how long?

How long will it take for a baby to recover from pneumonia?
How long does it take for a baby to recover from pneumonia?

No, you don't add 'time' after "how long". "How long time?" is not right.

[STRIKE]Does[/STRIKE] Is the second sentence correct?
Do we need to add 'time' after 'how long'?

Please note my amendments to your questions.

How long does it take a baby to recover from pneumonia?
"For" is omitted, is it correct?

Yes, that's correct.

Please see the corrections above, in red. We don't know for certain if the OP's child was really ill. It sounded like an English exercise to me.

In addition, PaulMckein, please correct the information in your Member Profile.
