I want to say a food had different flavors in it. Can I say "riot of flavor"?

Are correct and natural?

1. We tried a traditional Indian cuisine. It was a riot of flavor.

2. The pizza had many ingredients. It was a riot of flavor.

It's a bit melodramatic, but acceptable.

Athough with the pizza, just having many ingredients doesn't necessarily (logically) lead to a cacophony of flavors.

I suppose the context tells the reader if that's a positive thing or not.

The first works fine. Pizzas with many different flavours tend to be industrial ones.
