Is "saying" a right choice here? Or does it have to be another word?

  • For example, a little story about coffee saying that coffee`s origin is Ethiopia. South America is famous for coffee, but instant coffee is mostly produced in Vietnam.

Who wrote that?

Perhaps:

The story is that coffee originated in Ethiopia.

(I think it's pretty much accepted as fact.)

I added the last sentence, but I feel that the underlined is kind of complicated and some parts are redundant. How can I correct it?

I like light stories about something (historical).
For example, a little story about coffee that coffee`s origin is Ethiopia. South America is famous for coffee, but instant coffee is mostly produced in Vietnam.
So my favorite books are the ones with little stories along with their relevant historical incidents.

I think you are looking for interesting anecdotes.

Do you know the one about the Turks withdrawing from Vienna and leaving all those Turkish coffeehouses?

You do now. You just don't know any details.
:)
