One who spreads peace can be called a peace-maker. Can one who spreads love be called a love-maker? It sounds highly misleading to me, because it appears to strongly associate with "make love" which is about sexual activities. But the love in spreading love is a deep affection without sexual attraction.

I am not sure whether "love-maker" is as misleading as I think above.
==============

He's a man who spreads peace and love. That is, he's a peace-maker and a love-maker.

I agree. Don't use "love-maker".
Try the following.
He's a man who spreads peace and love. That is, he's a peace-maker and a man of compassion. [STRIKE]love-maker.[/STRIKE]
