I found this on the Macmillan website and it is exemplifying once more. I wonder whether the future tense after when is correct. What if I said We look forward to the day there is peace once more in this troubled land?

To me the original is fine, but yours is equally good.

I think the first might show a bit more certainty about peace arising from what is happening currently.
