All credits goes to you

Hi,

I always see "All credits goes to ...." at other places, why don't say "All credits for ..."?

Credit in here means a acknowledgment, so I think "for" is better than "goes to", because Peoples make a acknowledgment for you, not "go to" you.

Right?

"All credit goes to..." means that that person (or those people) should receive the recognition for doing a job well. "Credit" is a non-count noun here.


I don't know what "all credits for" would be used for.
