I looked around. All the (other) passengers were girls my age.

Is other needed? It has occurred to me that without it, it might sound as if the speaker was not a passenger. Then again, with it, it sounds as if there were more passengers than the ones the speaker is referring to.

Am I thinking too much? Does anybody want to help me?
