Hello.

In formal essays, when you support and idea and agree with it, you can say "this is a good idea."

What are some other ways of expressing approval of or agreement with an idea/plan/action?

I'm looking for sentences like these:

This is a good idea because it improves the economy.
This is a wise action as it helps the environment.
....

It makes sense.

It's reasonable.

That's smart.

This holds water.

I agree.

That's wonderfully insightful.

Brilliant!

A stroke of genius!

That's inspired!

I need something to use in a formal essay.

Let me explain. This is the question: Some people believe the government should ban fossil fuels. Do you agree with that?

And the answer:

I believe it is a good idea to ban fossil fuels.
I believe it is a wise policy to ban fossil fuels.
......

I need more stuff like that.

a sound idea
a beneficial plan

These are good.

Are there more?

It's a marvelous idea.

It would be the right thing to do.

You are going in the right direction.

It's the right policy to pursue.

It's the best idea.

In my opinion it's the best course.

In my opinion it's the best idea.

It would be the best policy.

You're on the right track.

I thought an idea does not become a policy until it is officially adopted.

It is true that ideas and policies are different things. They are similar here in the sense that the ideas under discussion are about policies. In that way they are connected.
