Am I using the semi-colon correctly

Is this sentence correct?

[FONT=&quot]They had difficulty talking with people they need communication with; doctors, pharmacists and bus drivers. [/FONT]
 
You should use a colon before a list.

A semi-colon is more for dramatic pauses.
 
A semicolon is also used to separate two complete clauses, both of which have a main verb and which are closely connected; this is an example of its use.
