I would like to know if the following text sounds natural and if it's correct. It's tech related:

Another advantage of plain text is that it can be version-controlled with tools like Git, allowing me to keep track of my changes and if necessary, restore the file to a previous state.

Side note: Git is a computer program for managing files.

I would use "version" instead of "state".
I like that someone thought to name a program Git. :lol:
