I'm writing a script. A boy comes home from his second day at a new school. His mom asks him --

Mom: How was your day?
Boy: Fine.
Mom: Yeah? Are you getting to know the others a little better? / Are you starting to get to know the others a little better? / Have you gotten to know the others a little better?

Question: Would one of the underlined sentences be natural here? If not, what would?

I find the first the best of the three.

"Are you making any friends?" is probably a more natural question. Especially if it's a small child.
