"at somebody's house" or "in somebody's house"

As a [British] NES, the difference, to me would be that "at somebody's house" would be the generic term I would use to cover both inside the house itself or chatting to them in their garden, for example, whereas "ïn sombody's house" would mean physically inside the actual building itself.

If someone called me and said "Where are you?" my answer would be "at" someone's house, not "in."
If someone called and said "There is a huge hail storm coming - make sure you get inside!" then I could see saying "Don't worry, I'm IN Mary's house."
