a, Between anger and confusion, I made all the possible mistakes.
Meaning: As a result of anger and confusion, I made all the possible mistakes.

b. Between selfishness and mistrust, they destroyed their marriage.
Meaning: As a result of selfishness and mistrust, they destroyed their marriage,

Are (a) and (b) grammatically correct and do they have the intended meanings?

Not to me- I'd use something like Angry and confused.... If you are between the emotional states, you are not affected by both simultaneously.
