Dear Teachers.
I've run into the test on the Internet.
The first sentence is mine, the second one is the right.
I don't understand my mistakes.

1) He is working hard, so he is making a progress.
He is working hard, and he is making a progress.
2) John is not going to the party, but he wants to go.
John is not going to the party, nor he wants to go.
3) He had many options, but he chose to stay with you.
He had many options, yet he chose to stay with you.
4) She is writing a letter, however she is going to regret it later.
She is writing a letter, or she is going to regret it later.
5) They were talking, while no teacher was present.
They were talking, as no teacher was present.
6) They were composed, as well they were calm.
They were composed, yet they were calm.
The last mistake I don't understand very much!

Numbers 1 and 2 are both incorrect. Progress is not countable in that context.

4) She is writing a letter, however she is going to regret it later. The comma needs to be a semi-colon.

And there needs to be a comma after however.

If someone is composed they are calm.
So neither sentence in 6 makes sense to me.

There are problems with punctuation.

It's a bad test. There are too many mistakes.

1) He is working hard, so he is making progress.
He is working hard, and he is making progress.
2) John is not going to the party, but he wants to go.
John is not going to the party, nor does he want to go.
3) He had many options, but he chose to stay with you.
He had many options, [space] yet he chose to stay with you.
4) She is writing a letter. However, she is going to regret it later.
She is writing a letter, but she is going to regret it later.
5) They were talking [no comma]while no teacher was present.
They were talking, as no teacher was present.
6) They were composed. They were calm.
They were composed. They were calm.
