Hello.
''Can you name other departments in a department store?''
This question is from the book Let's Talk about it by Mark Gibbon. I was trying to find the names of the departments but I didn't find them. Aren't they called according to what is sold there? For example, ''jewellery,'' ''footwear,'' ''clothes,'' or ''clothing'', etc?

Capitalize every major word in titles. Include the final word even if it's a preposition or other minor word.

In casual speech, clothes shop.

You didn't ask, but in American English neither one works. A good generic term for such places over here is clothes store.

And what do you use in formal speech? "Clothing shop/store"?

As far as I'm concerned, "clothes shop" is the standard term. It's neither formal nor informal.

When I said, "in casual speech", I didn't mean that clothes shop is informal. I meant that's the common word, not an industry word, like fashion retail outlet or whatever they call themselves.
