Hello

I read that some English speakers use different r sounds. Where can I find examples?

The US has several regionalisms. In the northeast, lots of people drop the R at the end of words. For instance, you might hear river pronounced rivah. Here in Maine, words like dear often become two syllables: DEE-ah.

In some parts of the country, people add Rs here and there for no apparent reason: wash is warsh and idea is idear.

And a lot of people in Rhode Island hardly pronounce Rs at all. Narragansett Boulevard is Nawagansett Bouwevahd.
