Are both forms "do" and "does" correct in "e" because "class", "group", "company", and similar words take both singular and plural verbs?

Hello, Rachel!

There are a few nouns that look singular, but they are sometimes thought of as plural. My favorite example is when I watch sports and the commentators are referring to a team as if it were a plural noun. I think it's because the speaker thinks of the people (plural) that comprise the group rather than the group itself (singular).

"Chelsea are really good this season."

I've heard police and staff used almost always like that.

"Some staff say our boss is a workaholic and difficult to get to know."
"The police are investigating the crime scene."

I've rarely heard class, group, or company used like that. From my experience—for what it's worth—they're usually treated as normal, singular nouns.

"Our class is going green."
