Is that correct according to the recording? I am not sure about the underlined part.

In my hearing, "the" is "we".

Is there any longer clip (ie context) that might help us settle this disagreement?
 
I heard "the". :-? (The speaker is, IMO, not Brazilian, so "we" would make little sense).

Yes, I agree. I heard "and the emotionally shattered Brazilians, three." If so, he was probably giving the final score of the Round of 16 match between Chile and Brazil. It ended in a tie, 1 to 1, and was resolved by penalty kicks, which Brazil won, 3 to 2.

I understand "through", not "three", that is, the Brazilians, after a lot more suffering than expected went through to the following round.
