Hi,

I am preparing myself for the CAE, so I am doing a self-practice grammar exercise. But, I can't figure out the answers for the following sentences. I am feeling restless until I have the explanation.

1. Accidents have been _____________ numerous this year.
A. far less (I think this could be the answer)
B. far many ( This option doesn't sound right to my ear)
C. far much (accidents is uncountable, hence, this option seems wrong)

2. A packet of letters of complaint _________ to Paris newspaper demanding Eiffiel Tower be torn down.
A. was being sent (I would choose A, but B seems correct as well. I need an explanation if either one is the answer.)
B was sent
C. were being sent (definitely not the answer)

3. Love is sort of short encounter, it can be ____ waited _____ prepared.
A. either, or (This could be the answer. Not enough context for me to be confident with A though.
B. neither, nor
c, either, nor (definitely wrong)

Thanks in advance

I am feeling restless until I have the explanation.
That's ungrammatical and unnatural. You can just add "and it's really annoying me" to the previous sentence.

Where did you find that exercise? Please cite the source properly (title, author, publisher, year ...etc).

My friend shared it with me. He got it from his lecturer. We often exchange exercises or lessons.

I'm not sure about the source of the exercise.

"A" is the answer to #1. Forget about the other two. They have errors in them and are unnatural.
