Hello, what is the difference in meaning between the two sentences?

1- Virat Kohli is out for a golden duck for the third consecutive time in this series.

2- Virat Kohli is out for a golden duck for three consecutive times in this series.

1- Virat Kohli is out for a golden duck for the third consecutive time in this series.

The first is correct, if you're saying it just after he got out for the third time. The present tense works as you're speaking about something that just happened, especially if you're a commentator or announcer. You could also say "Virat Kohli has got out for a golden duck for the third consecutive time ..."

2- Virat Kohli is out for a golden duck for three consecutive times in this series.

The second is incorrect. Kohli has got out for a golden duck three consecutive times ...
No "for" before "three".
And you need "has got out" here because you aren't speaking just about the most recent occasion, but about all three occasions. Even if the third occasion just occurred, the first and second occurred more in the past.

"For the third time" is correct. "For three times" isn't.

(For people unfamiliar with cricket, Kohli plays for the Indian team and "out" and "golden duck" are cricket terms.)
