Gerund or infinitive and passive with "love," "like," and "hate".

Is it wrong to use the the passive construction to be + pp with these verbs?

1. "She likes to be looked at."
2. "She hates to be asked the same question twice."
3. "She loves to be looked at."

My book "Practical English Usage" by Michael Swan uses "ing"

"She likes being looked at." "She hates being made a fool of."

Both forms are possible.

Both forms are possible.

Does "being" with the past participle show that the action is taking place now?

You often ask us to comment on something you have you read in Swan's book.

If you doubt its competence or accuracy, perhaps it's time to get a new book.

I have the impression that Rachel usually wants to know if constructions Swan doesn't mention are possible.

You are right. I definitely wasn't questioning Swan's competence and the competence of the teacher on UE who suggested it. I have been using this book since then.
