Twenty-two years later they are happily married, with one boat, two PhDs and parallel careers as microplastic-pollution researchers at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, and the University of Birmingham, UK, respectively.

I can't clearly figure out what "with one boat" means here.
By the phrase "in the same boat", I guess "with one boat" probably means "with the same experience". But if so it doesn't sound very natural here. By Bing Translator, it seems to mean "having one boat as their property". If it is the case, why not "having one house or two cars as their property"? Because they didn't have house or cars but boat? I am not sure.
What does it mean?
