Hello teachers,

In which situation do we use having and which we can omit it out? They seem to have very similar meanings.

Having believed that she was being cheated on,...

Believed that she was being cheated on,...

Thanks so much.

1. Having believed that she was being cheated on,...

2. Believed that she was being cheated on,...
2 is ungrammatical. You need 'Believing ...'

Can "Having believed" and "Believing" in this context be used interchangeably? Do they have the same meaning?

Thank you.

No. Believing means she holds that belief at the time the narrative is set in. Having believed means she once held the belief, but she may not hold it at the time of the narrative.
