I have a question about juxtaposition.

I saw this sentence on the net,

He works for the company as well as writing literature books.

Are the sentences below grammatically right?

He works for A as well as writes children's books.

As well as writes children's books, he works for A.

I have a question about juxtaposition. I saw [STRIKE]this[/STRIKE] the following sentence on the net.

He works for the company as well as writing [STRIKE]literature[/STRIKE] books.

Are the sentences below grammatically right?

He works for A as well as writes children's books. :cross:
Replace "as well as" with "and".

As well as writes children's books, he works for A. :cross:
Start with "As well as writing ...".

See above.

Re: jHe works for the company as well as writing literature books.

Thank you for your help. I have other questions.

I understand the following sentence is right. He works in a bank as well as writing short stories.

But, still wondering about the two sentences below.

Are both sentences wrong?

1 He works in a bank as well as he writes short stories.

2 He works in a bank as well as writes short stories.

2 He works in a bank as well as writes short stories.

I am still confused about if the following sentences are right or not. Could you help me with this? What is the difference between above sentences?

He works in a bank as well as he writes short stories . This sentence is right?

2 He works in a bank as well as writes short stories.

Yes. They're both grammatically incorrect.

Re: jHe works for the company as well as writing literature books.

He works in a bank as well as he writes short stories.

That seems to say that he does as good a job at the bank as he does at writing short stories.

I don't see the need to substitute as well as for and.

Note what emsr2d2 wrote in post #2.

Your profile says you're Korean, but that website is Turkish. Can you explain why you're using a Turkish website to learn English?

Re: jHe works for the company as well as writing literature books.

It would be better not to put three posts in a row. Instead wait for a response to one post before posting something else, or start a new thread if you have another question. (My opinion.)

Because I usually google it to learn English.

Re: jHe works for the company as well as writing literature books.

In my opinion, "as well as" is used incorrectly in both those examples. They should have used "and".

What does "it" refer to? It's still strange that, if you put a search for an English term into Google in South Korea, a Turkish website was a hit close enough to the top for you to choose to open it.

I agree, but a lot of people do it, at least in my part of the world.

Indeed. I'm not convinced at all by rkatk's vague answer in post #11.

For whatever it may be worth, when I used IP address geolocation, rkatk's came back as Korea.

Re: jHe works for the company as well as writing literature books.

Because what i tried to write is nowhere except the website. I got one hit. Anyway, what is the point ? I don't get it. As I said, I am using Google. A lot of sentences are there, and I usually pick the one which is different from what I think grammatically . Also, there are a lot of other ways to use google as you know. Sometimes, I find some sentences on the net and try to change some structures based on what i learnt. So, I try to find out whether what I paraphrase is right or not , namely I think I practice some grammar things by changing the structure based on what I learnt from common grammar books. That's all.

I am not studying the Turkish website. It just came out on the Google during my search. I just entered "as well as writes " in the search box.

OK, thanks for the explanation. Your questions have been answered in a couple of responses.
