help to edit my letter which goes to my boss

I was supposed to start my annual leave on 10[SUP]th[/SUP] November ,2014 up to 7[SUP]th[/SUP] December, 2014, but due to pending works which are still in my desks I will not be able to start my leave.


I therefore request your good office to cancel my leave till the pending works has been cleared.



Hope my request will be considered favaourably.

It seems awfully formal to me (as an American). But you might say:

Due to projects I haven't finished yet I will be unable to start my leave when originally planned.

I was due to go on leave on 10th November but unfortunately I have outstanding work and will have to delay the start of my leave. I will notify you when I have cleared the work and of the date I plan to start my leave.
