1. "Hit home" means something like to make an impression.
a. For example, Mr. and Mrs. Smith live in a nice neighborhood. They only read about crime in other parts of the city.
Then one day, they returned home and discovered that bad people had broken into their house and stolen many things.
We would then say that the problem of crime had really hit home with them.
b. For example, Ms. Jones had a very good job. She thought that people without jobs were just lazy. Then one day, she
was fired (dismissed) from her job. We would then say that the bad economic conditions had really hit home with her.

c. Thus:
i. Bullying is often thought to be something that affects only children.
ii. But that message (I guess, since I do not know the contents of the message) is addressed to adults.
It (I guess) wants to remind adults that they are not exempt from bullying. Maybe (I do not know the contents of
the message), the message hits home (makes an impression) on adults by reminding them that they, too, can be
bullied by people at their jobs. Or maybe the message reminds parents (adults) that they may be legally responsible if
their little darlings (children) bully other children.
