Is there any difference between the following three:

How have you been?
How are you doing?
How are you?

Is there any difference between the following three:

How have you been?
How are you doing?

The third is the more neutral, probably the most likely to be used to somebody you are not particularly well acqainted with.

Among friends, I can't see any real difference between them. It's a matter of personal preference. I happen to use the third more than the other two.
