how lucky

Hi all,
I made up the following dialogue. Do you think the use of "How lucky" sounds natural?

A ： Guess what! John won 100 million yen in a lottery.
B ： How lucky! He doesn’t have to work anymore.

Grammar books say "how + adjective" can be used to express your feelings, but it seems like native speakers of English (at least some of them) say they don't use this as grammar books say.
