Is this short dialog natural and grammatical?

A: I had an interview last week for a managerial position. I thought I'd given dusty and brief answers, but guess what. I got a call today informing me I landed the gig. Huzzah! I'm ecstatic and I'll be rolling in the dough in no time.
B: Congrats. Props to you, man.

OK. But:
"dusty answers" I can guess the meaning, but I've never seen/heard before.
"props" Never seen or heard as used.

Thanks Yankee. What adj instead of "dusty" can I use? Is "kudos to you" more natural than "props"?

I'm the opposite of Yankee. I've heard or seen "props" used that way a dozen times or so. But I'm a little unclear about what "dusty" means. (Unoriginal?)

Would "superficial answers" work?

dusty - staid and uninteresting (Oxford)

Is that the definition of "dusty" you used?

I haven't seen dusty used in this way with answers. Shouldn't there be a question mark after guess what?

I don't know. xD Thanks for pointing that out tho.

Will: Guess what?
Tim: I don't have a guess.
Will: Tomorrow is a big day.
Tim: It is?
Will: Yes, it's my birthday.
Tim: I didn't know. Happy birthday!
Tim: Guess what?
Will: What?
Tim: I don't have a present for you.
Will: Are you coming to the party?
Tim: There's going to be a party?
Will: Yes.
Tim: Guess what?
Will: What?
Tim: I don't know.
