The OP wrote 'being sick' but not 'being absent'. Is it possible for a sick person to say 'Sorry for being sick and the low efficiency today'?

Someone might use being sick as an excuse for poor performance at work but it would be worded differently. They would apologise for their lack of efficiency rather than for being sick.
"I'm sorry I didn't get much done today. I feel terrible. I think I might have flu."
