Have I used "intertwine" correctly and naturally? Are these okay?

1. In Madrid, modernity and tradition intertwine.
2. They recommend traveling to Turkey, a country where Europe and Asia intertwine, creating an exciting tapestry of cultures and traditions.
3. In the heart of Barcelona, different cultures are interwoven together and different styles of architecture and design intertwine.

That word is most often encountered as "intertwined", typically in the passive voice.

Is that what you mean? If so, fine.

@alpacinou I like those sentences, but I would delete "together" from the third one.

Yes, in most examples I'd seen it was used in passive voice. But I saw this example in Webster dictionary:

I wondered if it's correct to say 'modernity and tradition intertwine' since in the dictionary it says 'past and present intertwine'.

I have no problem at all with the simple present (when appropriate).

What's your opinion about the sentences in post #1?
