I have sets of two questions here, both seemingly indirect.
1. Do you know where the butter is?
2. Where do you think the butter is?
-
3. Do you know why he did that?
4. Why do you think he did that?
-
5. Do you know when the train arrives?
6. When do you think the train arrives?
-
For these sets of questions I'm wondering why the question word comes after 'know' but before 'think'.
Thank you for any help
