Some young adults want independence from their parents as soon as possible. Other young adults prefer to live with their families for a longer time. In my opinion, young adults who prefer to live with their families for a longer time will have many advantages. Being young adults, they do not have much experience about the outside world. They may not be knowing what is right or what is wrong. If they live with their families, the family members would guide them in a right direction.
For example, a student who is in his under-graduation is confused whether to take up a job straight away or to go for a higher studies. If he is staying with his family, his father or brother or any of the family members could possibly provide him a solution as to choose what with their knowledge and experience. But, if the student is all alone, he would be very much afraid about the future and he would be very much diffident in taking up the next step of his life. Also, staying with family gives some sort of emotional comfort to the young adult.
Also, there is so much to learn during adolescence both for profession as well as for life. There may be occassions when the young adults encounter failures. For instance, a student may get a poor score in his exams or he may not get through interviews. In those times, being with family would console them and they would have the feeling that their family is supporting in all hard times. This would make the adults feel better and get themselves ready for the next opportunity.
Whereas, the young adults who are away from their families will not have these advantages. There is a dire possibilty that the young adults will wrongly use their freedom. For example, by finding bad companions, the young adults might become addicted to drug. They might waste their precious time by watching more movies or simply hanging around with their friends. These will not possibly happen when the young adults stay with their families.

If they live with their families, the family members would guide them in a right direction.

This assumes that age brings wisdom- there are plenty of stupid old people. Being sixty does not make you right, IMO.
