A client is challenging his therapist:
Client: So is it just a job to you, or do you care about your clients?
Therapist: I care. Have I given you a different impression? No, I try to care, 'cause that makes it easier, but... you'd be surprised at some of the things people come in to talk about. Not everything feels equally rewarding to spend your time on. What about you? Why should I care?
Question: Is 'care' used perfectly natural in this dialog? (The therapist's last question "Why should I care?" is meant to challenge the client to open up about his problems, which he hasn't done yet.)
