It was a nice weather this morning, but the sun was gone. Then it has really been pouring. I heard a loud of thunder twice near my place. It has been a long time since we have had rain, so I think it is a blessing rain.

I think I forgot to write this sentence "It has been a long time since we have had rain, so I think it is a blessing rain" like this "It has been a long time since we haven't had rain, so I think it is a blessing rain". Am I right?

If you have established that you are speaking/writing about rain, it's unnecessary to repeat "rain" in the statements.
