Last night, on a forum, some people asked if anyone smelled a strong burning odor on the streets. I didn't pay attention to it in the first place. Later on, more and more people claimed that they smelled something like burning plastic in different districts. I then went out to the balcony and smelled it too! I closed all the windows immediately. News reported that the odor was caused by a burning ship carrying metal debris. The scene was at least 10km away from my neighbourhood, so it astonished me that the smoke could flow that far. Finally, the fire was put out this morning.

Where I live, you can smell paper mills from a lot farther away than ten kilometers.
