You see, "ata." is an abbreviation of the acronym "atapentka." which means "all the average person EVER needs to know about" and which got changed to "atasoflentka." and means "all the average student of foreign language EVER needs to know about".
It is all quite bizarre, but makes a certain amount of sense, and the students understand it.
This time I actually MEAN to post a reply.
