Living the high life
A molecular mechanism that helps flowering plants flourish at extreme altitudes

What does “high" mean here? It seems to be a pun to me, referring to both "high at extreme altitudes" and the "high" as in "the highs and lows of life". I am not sure.

In my opinion, "high" refers to high altitude points of the earth in this context. Living at the Everest mountain is an example of high life.

It's a pun on the set phrase "live the high life", meaning to have a decadent and expensive lifestyle. In the title, "high" refers to altitude.

My apologie to @tahasozgen for an incorrect comment on their post.

You're welcome, @5jj.
Note my corrections above. Also, note that "You're welcome" is a suitable response to "Thank you", but not to "I'm sorry". You didn't need to say anything at all in response but you could have said "That's OK" or "It's not a problem" or, to quote our Australian friends here, "No worries!"
