Hi. The girl lives in Sallisaw Oklahoma. She is raising money to go to Finland. Highway I-40 runs alongside the town, connecting Oklahoma to Arkansas. What does it mean "a map of the I-40 corridor? Why "corridor"? Thank you.
"She created a blog, asking strangers to sponsor her quest: “I understand our economy’s down right now, but I’ll gladly accept even the smallest amount of money,” she wrote. “I hope you’ll part with just a few dollars for some
girl with a crazy dream.” To show people where Sallisaw was, she included a map of the I-40 corridor." (The smartest kids in the world by Amanda Ripley)

We use the second definition SoothingDave posted for corridor frequently in AmE. In I-40, I stands for Interstate Highway, the newer of two highway systems largely funded by the US government.
