My name is Christian, i'm a 25 years old and i was born in Florence. I have a younger brother named Andrea who lives in London. A few years ago i was living in Valencia with my girlfriend Sarah. My main passion is basketball, I coached a team of autistic children for 2 years. Another great passion is running. I ran the marathons of London, New York and Boston. I am a gardener, but recently worked at the Florence Court.

Help me correct this text please. Thanks

Write Please help me. Omitting "please" makes your request read like a command, which is very impolite.

Always capitalize the word "I".

Your text contains two comma splices, places where a comma joins two independent clauses. You should replace those commas with periods ("full stops" in British English) or semicolons.

Remember to click the "Thank" link at the lower left of this post. :)

Say:

My name is Christian. I am 25 years old, and I was born in Florence.

My main passion is basketball, I coached a team of autistic children for two years.

There is a comma splice in that sentence.

Perhaps:

Another passion of mine is running. I have run the marathons of London, New York, and Boston.

Do you know how to use the word but?

I am a gardener, but recently worked at the Florence Court.

Perhaps you mean to say:

I am a gardener, and I recently worked at the Florence Court.

Hi!
My name is Gokhan from Turkey.

I want to learn English for my career. I've been following the site for a long time. But I became a member. I can understand when I read English but I have problems writing and speaking.

Hi!
My name is Gokhan from Turkey.

I want to learn English for my career. I've been following the site for a long time. Recently, I became a member. I can understand written English but I have problems writing and speaking.

I would say:

My name is Gokhan, and I'm from Turkey.

But, of course, I wouldn't say that.
;-)

We use but to contrast something with what came before.
