" I've been on the point of compliting this assignment. But I'm not done yet." Correct?


I have heard this expression few times not very often "On the point...."
 

I know that it's correct. I've been meaning to ask you if it's used in coversation a lot. At least I haven't heard it in the street very often. On top of that, it's very comfortable to deligate people to go look up in the dictionary without actually giving a word of explanation of the contex it might have been used in. How's your Dutch doing, dude?

I've never heard it. You might hear the following:

"I'm about to complete this assignment."

That's what I meant. I heard it in a movie directed by BBC. Sometimes they use a lot phrases that you hardly hear in evryday life.
 
I hear this idiom often.
 
I know that it's correct.

It's not correct until you alter the spelling of completing.
