Do we say "we do something to 'pass' the time or 'past' the time?

The correct expression is "to pass the time." So, in sentences 2 and 3, it would be "I play video games to pass the time" and "What do you do to pass the time?" The phrase implies engaging in activities to make time go by more quickly or pleasantly.
