Please check my personal statement for a master public health program. Thanks
From a very early age, I have always been passionately interested in medicine and public health. It was my mother, who is a community nurse, introducing me that first sparked this avid interest. I can always recall the feeling of wanting to know just how doctors and nurses functioned, why they were at work day and night and what else they could possibly do.
This deep interest never left me, only growing deeper and more passionate with every day. So, I worked very hard to pass the national medical school admission test and at the end I got accepted and learned medicine and also public health at undergraduate level. I have worked at several health community centres, in which some of them were in abject poverty, in Indonesia as a medical doctor, a health educator, and public health adviser.
Seeing the dire consequences of the pandemic on my close family, colleagues and friends, some of who have died, have a long covid, have a prolonged fatigue on end, has inspired me to apply for a Master of Arts in Public Health at your university. I really want to make sure that when the next time a pandemic does happen, we are practically ready to respond to dire repercussions, learning from the success and sorry stories that have appeared over the past 3 years.
I feel that your MA in Public Health program will provide me with the useful skills needed to contribute community from a public health perspective in the near future. I’m particularly interested in several modules you kindly offer in “concepts of health” and healing, “public health, sustainability, and community”, as well as the options to specialise in “global ethics and public health” and international politics of health to make a better world free of AIDS, infectious diseases and other
Clearly, there is a significant role that public health professionals can play in influencing the policies of local, nationwide and global organisations. I feel that the Master of Arts in Public Health at your university provides an excellent platform from which to start impacting policies in a keen sense, providing many golden opportunities to connect with well-thought policy makers.
