[Vocabulary] Put me in a steel sack

Hi folks,
In The Golden Girls Season 1 Episode 1, Sophia says, "When I go, put me in a steel sack and leave me on the curb next to the cans." What is 'a steel sack'? I just can't visualize it. Could anybody tell me what it looks like?

Here's an ad for them from 1981. The Golden Girls started in '85, so by then the ads were likely familiar enough to be considered pop culture. I don't remember them myself, although I can still recall the "hefty, hefty, hefty - wimpy, wimpy, wimpy" Hefty ads over 20 years later. They were something of an earworm.
