Dear Grammar God/Goddess,

I have a couple of the grammar questions regarding verbs for you.
VERB FORMS

  1. What is the name of the verb form cant dance? e.g. "I can't dance"
  2. What is the name of the verb form can't be e.g. "That can't be Pete. He's overseas.
What is the difference between the two forms?

VERB TENSE

  1. I have seen that film. What is the name of this verb tense? 'have seen'?
  2. I saw that film last week. What is the name of this verb tense? 'saw'
What is the difference between the two forms?

Many thanks for your help.

Kind Regards,
Will

Welcome :hi:to the Forum Will15,

This looks like homework to me. If it is, then we can't help until you have submitted it. Once your teacher gives it back to you, you can ask us anything you do not understand about the corrections. Then we will be happy to help.
