Hi!

I’m querying how one would correctly interpret the following:

“At the end of the day I'm not gonna remember the rest of the conversation (as proved with the info above) to do with my question except the actual answer. Sorry but you never answered me”

Would you interpret this as:

A: The person in question does not remember the rest of the conversation.

B: The person in question does remember the rest of the conversation.

Thanks!

Re: Sentence interpretation

Not an author - it was something that one of my friends said in text-based conversation. I copy/pasted the text so that nothing would be lost in translation.

Re: Sentence interpretation

I've given you a clue.

As I thought. The person who said it is debating this in the other direction.

Re: Sentence interpretation

It's a very poorly constructed sentence. Interpretation A is the best one. If that's not what was meant, it's the fault of the author.

Re: Sentence interpretation

The person says he or she is not going to remember the conversation (except for the answer to the question).

Right?

So if the person remembers the conversation now, it will be forgotten soon. So to save time and breath, the person just wants an answer, not a lecture or a speech.
