Yes, I did.
http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/ally?showCookiePolicy=true said it means allied persons, but I'm not sure what "allied persons" are. Ar they friends, family, people who understand you? Therefore I supposed it means "support".

I just have an exercise that sounds "translate the following sentences into your language". It does mean I have no context ;-).

Fair enough but what section was it in? Most textbooks are divided into chapters and have test questions at the end of each chapter which refer to specifically to aspects of the language which have been learnt in that chapter. Was this question in any particular chapter?
