I want to suggest that I have been harboring feelings for a woman. She saw my diary and found out. So the cat was out of the bag. Can I use the expression "my hand was tipped"? Does this work?

She was bold enough to go take a look at diary and found out I had feelings for her. My hand was tipped.


Is there another better way to express this?

You tip your hand when you reveal something prematurely. Unfortunately, it doesn't work to say that your hand is or has been tipped.

I'm sure there are a number of ways to say that your secret is out. That's the only one that comes to mind right now, though.
