Could you please tell me which sentence is grammatically correct?

I think there is an 'a' missing in front of '6.5'.

Firstly, they're both ungrammatical. To make them grammatical, you need to add an article here: 6.5 hours a day

Secondly, it's not enough to be grammatical. You need to make sure that you use the right grammar. For example, we can't tell very well whether the present continuous is right for the context.

Thirdly, the register must be appropriate. It's odd to measure hours with decimal points unless you're, say, an employer using a particular formal register.

Fourthly, and even more importantly, the sentence has to be coherent. It's hard to see how the logic between the two clauses is meant to work. Do you really mean to say that the information in the second clause is a consequence of that contained in the first?

Use either:
Since/As he is working a 6.5-hour day, Saturday ...
or
He is working a 6.5-hour day, so Saturday ...

Both of them sound as if this 6.5-hour day is an anomaly, rather than a regular occurrence. If he always works 6.5 hours each day, use "Since he works a 6.5-hour day" or "He works a 6.5-hour day".
